Design was needed for a variety of bag and carrier designs for different purposes. The first set of required designs were intended to work with a new technology that the company was developing at the time. Portability and flexibility were the main focus of the design brief. Initial concepts show fabric chambers with collapsible features, allowing portability for the unit.
The chamber's concept design took on various forms and aesthetic features, until it evolved into having a hard plastic shell, which provided more functionality and protection for the unit. Certain functional features of the unit, such as locking mechanisms and handles, were also studied along with other proprietary technical features.
Concept development of the collapsible chamber progressed and several designs were prepared for 3D modeling. The 3D models have undergone various iterations until a final design was decided for prototyping.
The company also required designs for bags with a different purpose. One of which is meant to carry electronic units together with accessories and documents such as a manual. Initial designs above focused on adopting a duffle bag design, and explores different styles for the opening and other functional features. Most viable designs were presented to the client for evaluation, prototype development and testing.
